Ikeda Town started receiving water from Satsunaigawa Dam in 1995. The water quality clearly improved as compared to when the town its water from the Ribetsugawa River. According to a questionnaire conducted by the Obihiro Development and Construction Department, many people felt that boiled rice and tea tasted better than before the dam water was used.
