Kushiro Wetland Nature Restoration Council
The implementation plan and other issues related to the restoration have been discussed by the Kushiro Wetland Nature Restoration Council. The council consists of local residents, researchers, government officials, municipal officers, and other stakeholders involved in the project. ![]() The council consists of three subcommittees. The Subcommittee on Ecosystem Restoration focuses on wetland ecosystems, including aspects of the wetland landscape. The Subcommittee on Sediment Inflow and Water Circulation addresses the physical environment of the wetland, particularly sediment inflow control and water circulation. The Subcommittee on Wise Use discusses the sustainable use of wetlands and regional collaboration.
