Landscapes of lakes, mire and rivers, such as those of Lake Touro, Shirarutoro Pond and Takkobu Pond, should be preserved.

It is necessary that the splendour of Kushiro Mire's environment be widely known to people, so that their awareness of the need for conservation is enhanced.
Guidance should be given and regulations should be displayed on outdoor signboards and advertisements around Kushiro Mire.
The landscapes unique to the Kushiro River and Kushiro Mire need to be restored by controlling vegetation such as black alder and by restoring rivers to meandering channels.
